Elizabet Paisiyeva (Bulgaria)
The youngest competitor at the 2001 World Championships, Elizabet Paisiyeva of Bulgaria nonetheless made a strong showing by finishing seventh all-around.

Paisiyeva, a native of Sofia, enjoys an impressive coaching pedigree. She is a product of the "Iliana" Rhythmic Club, established by 1980 European champion Iliana Rayeva at the famous Levski sports complex. Currently Paisiyeva is coached by Stela Salapatyska, formerly a top gymnast herself in the 1990s.

Along with fellow newcomer Simona Peycheva, Paisiyeva is helping to return Bulgaria to the spotlight in rhythmic gymnastics. Bulgaria earned a fourth place finish at the recent World Championships, their best result in the past few years.

A bright new hope for Bulgaria, Paisiyeva turns 15 on December 17.
